Quick Cute Cut

Hello Friends!

Here is the third creative variation for the alphabet I posted about here and here. This one is super quick and easy - I hope you'll love it!

To make these simple monogram tags, create a new file in Silhouette Studio. Select your letter or letters from the striped alphabet file and copy to the new file. Resize the letters to the size required for your project. Fill the stripes with your desired color (instructions here). To create the solid letter, use the offset window, create a .100 offset, and then fill the offset shape with the same color. (The image below is the offset window; the offset icon, window name and offset distance are circled in red).
.

To finish the letters, use puffy tape (still don't know what the correct name is - pictures are below...help...anyone?) to attach the striped shape to the solid. It's another one of my favorite creative tools - it adds just a tiny dash of additional detail when the two shapes are offset.

I tied a bow on the larger envelope and left the smaller one plain. The smaller is for my husband was for my husband; it's a bit more masculine without a bow..

I also used washi tape to seal the backs of the envelopes. That washi tape is SO handy!

For my photo shoot today, I needed props to fill out the glassine envelopes so I bought two cookies. I had to restrain myself, however, from eating those cookies until I had all of my shots and my writing complete. Now...it's time to go liberate those cookies from their confinement.

More ideas tomorrow. See you then!
