Easter Sweets

Hello Friends!

Today I have a few more examples of creative ideas for the alphabet I posted on Monday.

I love the idea of embellishing a cake plate for a party - in this case, just a little paper lace and a striped letter border that says EASTER SWEETS. The edge of a cake plate is another place to coordinate the look for whatever occasion you're celebrating. The colors of these letters would work great with an Easter event or a baby shower - anything where a pastel color theme is used.

To make the edging for the cake plate, I just used two-sided tape to attach the paper lace to the plate edge and then used a glue stick on the back of the letters to attach them to the paper lace. I can't decide if I'd like the paper lace a little wider or a little narrower or if it's just right as it is. Hmmph!

The Easter egg garland is the one that I promised in this post last week. Oh my heavens I'm so late in posting the links to the files! No one is looking over my shoulder - I'd better start policing myself better. Anyway...I think it's really cute - a great project to have in your Easter decorating arsenal.

To make this garland, I printed and cut out the egg shapes ('.studio' download files below, striped alphabet file here) and then colored my letters using the fill color window in Silhouette Studio. After printing and cutting them. I used pillow tape (what the heck is it called...I'll have to show you a picture tomorrow) on the back of each letter to raise it off the egg for a more three dimensional effect. After that, I strung them all on my beloved baker's twine and this project was good to go!

Personalize It:
Use only bright eggs for your garland - print and cut two of that page.
Use only light eggs for your garland - print and cut two of that page.
Use all one color for your garland - delete the eggs you don't want to use and duplicate the color you want as many times as you want.
Feel free to send me questions if you have any. Have fun!
