The Beginning of Butterflies

Just a very quick note today...
 

 

I've had butterflies on my mind a lot lately. I almost (literally) had one on my mind the other day when I was out walking and one, strangely, dove for my forehead. Fortunately, we both swerved and catastrophe (for the butterfly...my forehead's hard) was averted.

 

Anyway...

 

 

I made this little butterfly garland today, and the straw topper, too. I designed the butterfly itself awhile ago - just haven't shared it with you yet. I've had the paper for awhile, too, and of course it has red in it (what is this thing I have for red lately?) - so my red/white baker's twine worked well for stringing the garland. 

 

 

And the paper coordinates great with these red and white straws.

 

 

Do you remember the washi tape candle? That picture below is that same candle, in transition. Because washi tape doesn't have to be forever...and there's another design I'd like to try. Look for it to make another appearance next week in some new finery.
