Hello Friends!
Today I have an update to the Easter garland from last week
- a mini version in a print-and-cut file - for you to download. It's quite
compact so you can hang it in a smaller place. It'd be really cute hanging over your child's bed or headboard.
I also have the print-and-cut files from last Friday's post for you to download.
Although my primary goal last week was to demonstrate how creative you can be
when designing around one element, I though that my test projects might still
be fun for you to have and use in your own way...so the links for those goodies
are at the bottom of this post.
By next week, I'd like to have at least one full suite of
coordinating elements for your Easter decorating: an Easter garland, food
picks, a dessert stand border, place cards, menu cards, etc. All in one package
so you don't have to run around for your decorating stuff - you can print and
cut it all at home and be done lickety split.
When I was at TJ Maxx one day, I saw these mason jar drinking glasses with plastic grommets in the lid for a straw. I thought they might be great storage for baker's twine and it turned out I was right. There were 4 in the box and the lids were a little scratched but they've been perfect for keeping the roll contained while I grab just the amount I need for my work. I found these on Amazon, they'd work great, too, if you've already got some mason jars on hand and would like to use them as storage for your baker's twine.
Does anyone else remember these? They're officially called
'Bubble Gum Wrapper Paper Chains'. I found a kit for one at the store awhile
ago and started futzing with it one night while watching TV. I love to have my
hands busy, especially when I have the TV on, and small projects like this
paper-folding one are simple enough to occupy the hands while the mind is
elsewhere.
I had this (sort of) long chain done and realized it looked
pretty cute as a cake stand border. I added a few more paper lengths and
voila! A sweet touch of paper decor that's so easy and even customizable if you
use the paper colors you love. I found directions for how to make one here;
I lost my directions awhile ago.
Stay tuned - more ideas to come!
