Happy Friday, Everyone!
It's been a beautiful day today, the weather has dropped below 100 and it's so much more comfortable. I saw a really amazing flower today when I was walking - it looks like a pineapple in the middle of a palm tree! I'm afraid the picture doesn't do it justice...
Do you remember this little birds garland?
I've had a few people tell me that they'd like to make one and neither has a Silhouette so I created a downloadable file for everyone who'd like it. It's very easy - only 8 birds to cut and it's even easier if you print the pattern on the back of the paper you want to use for your garland and then cut it out.
A little while ago, I designed a gift box for Dad's day with a file for Silhouette owners to download and cut. I didn't have a printable version of the box at that time so today I made one for everyone who doesn't have a Silhouette - I don't want anyone to feel neglected!
There are patterns (jpg files) for both a box top and bottom. The files are high resolution - 300 dpi - so they should print out really well. The box bottom pattern has dashed lines where it should be scored for folding - use that as a template for where to score the box top, too. When you make yours, just make sure the score lines are on the inside of the box bottom when you glue it all together.
The patterns can also be used to cut a box from different cardstock if you don't want a black and white box. Just cut the pattern out and trace around it onto whatever media you want to use.
Once you have this basic box pattern, you can use it over and over again for gifting. You can find cardstock that's elegant, fun, pretty, masculine or childlike. Choose a cardstock that fits your occasion, use coordinating ribbon or twine and you'll have a custom wrap for your gift that you can be sure no one else will duplicate.

That's it for this Friday. I hope you all have fun this weekend - especially celebrating Father's Day with the Dads in your life. See you Monday!
Stay tuned.
