Hello Friends!
I went to Michael's today...whoa, it makes me a little
lightheaded just to say that. A trip to Michael's entails so much creative stimulation,
so much eye candy...and so much danger! I went in with a list and came out
with...more than what was on my list (hence the danger). If Michael's isn't the
apex of impulse buying, I don't know what is! Trips like these are so deadly
because my list of projects, already long, is now longer.
The things on my shopping list were the glue sticks, the
embroidery hoop, and the embroidery floss. The rest were not on my list but
will be used in future projects, as photo props, or as jumping off points for
new ideas. Of course I added to my washi tape collection - another reason for
the 'danger' reference - with some red and black prints.
It might be of note that the 'things not on my list' list is
much longer than the 'things on my list' list. The third and final reason (in
this post) that Michael's is dangerous.
Nothing I bought was over $5 but ohmigosh it adds up fast! I haven't been to Michaels in so long and
although you might not know it from looking at these pictures, I exercised
amazing restraint on this trip. I used to buy a lot of paper stuff - now I feel
like I can make most of those things myself.
But everyone should have some Houndstooth pencils and some
teeny tiny little clothespins in pink and black (great photo props). And polka
dot (teeny polka dots!) brads, cupcake liners, and wooden eggs are destined for
future projects. The little crochet flowers are for gift wrapping and the washi
tape...well, there's no end to what one can do with washi tape!
Stay tuned - more to come!
