Spring Garland Preview

Today was a great day. Lists checked, laundry folded and even a little time for design. One of the best things I got to do today, though, was walk. I love to walk, outside much more than on a treadmill. I haven't been able to do it a lot lately but today, I was rewarded for my effort.

This tree is called, I believe, a Japanese Maple. It's an annual, blooming once a year for a short period. When I say short, I mean short; these flowers will probably all be gone within 3 days. That's why it's such treat to catch one in bloom. Although it can't be seen too well in this picture, the pink and magenta colors of the flower petals are really quite deep and so pretty.

As for design, I'm working on a spring garland, even though I know there are those of you who are still knee deep in snow. Hang in there all of you snow bunnies, I know spring is on the way.

In the meantime, I'll finish this garland up and post the files for you to download. That way, you can get a jump on spring decorating by creating something pretty to lighten and brighten your home - or your office, too, for that matter!
